Treaty 2 Territory – On a beautiful day at the Sharing Lodge in Wasagaming, Mb, Assembly of First Nations (AFN) Manitoba Region Chief Cindy Woodhouse met with leaders of the FNT2T government to give her vision of unity with all indigenous leaders and organizations. Moving forward together will strengthen the voices of indigenous leaders and all members. FNT2T Grand Chief Eugene Eastman welcomed Chief Woodhouse to the gathering at the sharing lodge. Chief Eastman put forward the idea of forming an Accord to work with AFN and Chief Woodhouse in moving the indigenous agenda and reconciliation that is needed with the recent events in Manitoba and Canada. Chiefs that were present gave their remarks in working together in the future and looked forward for a positive working relationship.
Chief Woodhouse was presented a ribbon skirt and unity medallion as part of the process of working together in the future. There will be more in person discussions with the leaders of FNT2T and AFN regional Chief Woodhouse. Please watch for upcoming stories and postings on all our Nations in FNT2T.
