Jordan’s Principle leads parade to kick off Keeseekoowenin Ojibway Nation’s Treaty Week

August 18, 2021

Treaty 2 Territory – Keeseekoowenin Ojibway Nation’s Treaty week runs from Aug 18-22, 2021. The week started off on August 18, 2021 with a parade with Jordan’s Principle in the lead of the parade procession. Members of the nation watched and the children enjoyed the treats that were given out by the parade participants. There was a BBQ sale held at the store with plenty of members enjoying the hamburgers and smokies. Some of the events planned are:

  • Bouncy castles
  • Horseshoe tournaments
  • Pool tournaments
  • Pancake breakfast
  • Volleyball tournament
  • Community yard sales
  • Facepainting/kids activities
  • Treasure hunt
  • Community BBQ
  • Bingo
  • Strongman contest – men and women
  • Baseball tournament

There will be plenty of activities for all members of Keeseekoowenin to participate. FNT2T would like to thank Chief Norman Bone and council for the invitation to come down and be part of the events. These events are for all members to attend and enjoy. FNT2T will be in the nations during the treaty day events for information and for giveaways for FNT2T merchandise. Look for the postings in your nation or websites for upcoming events in the nations of Treaty 2.
