The 150th commemoration of the making of Treaty 2

Treaty 2 Territory – Keeseekoowenin Ojibway Nation hosted the 150 th making of the Treaty 2 commemoration in the beautiful sharing lodge in Wasagaming, Mb. The 2 day gathering was held August 21 – 22, 2021 for all people in the treaty 2 territory to attend and participate in the events that were held. The first day was the history of Treaty 2, with Allen Sutherland of the Lodge giving a presentation on the history of Treaty 2. There was an re-enactment of the treaty 2 presentation by play wright Ian Ross and Ryan Black for the people in attendance.

The second day of the events was a day of speeches by invited guests and political leaders from all territories. The day concluded with 10 hours of live entertainment from musicians from the treaty 2 territory, concluding with poplar country artist group Doc Walker. These 2 days were filled with history, learning , visiting of elders, families. It was a great time in the Treaty 2 Territory.
