September 21, 2021

Treaty 2 Territory – Aniin, Tansi; John Miswagon here. CFN Policy Keeper with First Nations in Treaty 2 Territory.

I had the honour and privilege to attend Pine Creek  First Nation’s Summer Men’s Gathering.
Throughout the 3 days, the average attendance was 30 -44 participants per day. The attendees came from Pine Creek, Duck Bay, Shamattawa, Fisher River, Cross Lake,  and our neighbouring provinces of Saskatchewan & Ontario. Another gathering is planned for the Fall.

Miigwech to Ogiimaa Derek Nepinak for the invitation to attend, and for the hospitality of the Pink Creek First Nation.  Treaty 2 Keepers and Helpers were honoured to be in attendance, and thank Keeseekoowenin Chief Norman Bone for attending. Miigwech to the Councilors from Waywayseecappo, Pine Creek & Skownan for taking tine out of your busy schedules to come sit with us 👍🏽🙏🏽
