Tootinaowaziibeeng’s theme of annual Health Fair is to reconnect with members in the nation

September 22, 2021

Treaty 2 Territory – The nation of Tootinaowaziibeeng held their annual Health Fair from September 20 -22, 2021. There were many activities that were held for the members to attend and participate. These activities included:

  • Nation float parade
  • Booth day
  • Free draws/giveaways
  • Horseshoe tournament
  • Merchandise Bingo
  • Petting Zoo
  • Pony Rides
  • Guest speakers and live entertainment
  • Movie night
  • Bannock on a stick and tea
  • Fireworks

The weather was sunny and beautiful for the three days, with the members of Tootinaowaziibeeng participating in all events. The theme of the three day event was getting back together as a nation and being positive moving forward. There was plenty of orange shirts to recognize the survivors/children of the residential schools and bringing awareness to it. Guest speaker Errol Kinistino of the CBC show “ North of 60” spoke to the members on his life and sang some songs to the members.

Health Director Blair Rattlesnake said this helps bring the members together for fellowship to help the nation reconnect during the Covid pandemic. This was a great event for Tootinaowaziibeeng and its members. FNT2T would like to thank the Health Department and leadership for the invite to set up an information booth and the great hospitality.
