CPNW and Knowledge council meet in treaty 2 territory to further discuss moose management and resource development

Treaty 2 Territory – The FNT2T CPNW Care and Protection of the Natural World Circle and the Knowledge Council met at the Keeseekoowenin Sharing Lodge in Wasagaming Mb on Wednesday October 27,2021. There were representatives from Skownan, Gambler, Keeseekoowenin, Ebb and Flow, and Pine Creek. There was a special meeting of the CPNW to further discuss the moose management and the proposed allocation of moose tags for the nations in the territory. Ron Missaybit Circle Keeper of the CPNW updated the councils on the latest developments from the province in terms of a moose management strategy for treaty 2 territory and the members who hunt to provide for their families.

The Knowledge council were given updates from the Peacemaking keeper Chantel Barker and Administration Keeper Ray Mousseau updated the councils on the changes with administration. Governance Keeper Merv Sinclair also gave the councils updates on the law development which continues to progress in each nation. Special presentations and recognitions were given out to members of the knowledge council and leadership for their work in FNT2T government and all the circles.
