February 9, 2022

Treaty 2 Territory – On February 9, 2022, the FNT2T Knowledge Council met in person in the FNT2T office in Dauphin Mb. There were representatives from the nations of Pinaymootang, Little Saskatchewan, Ebb and Flow, Ochichakosipi, Gambler, and Skownan. Knowledge Keeper Elsie Marsden gave the opening prayer asking for a good meeting. Louie Malcolm of Ebb and Flow is the chairperson of the Knowledge Council. Some items discussed:

  • Opening statements
  • Care Protection of the Natural World – update briefing notes
  • Climate Change project and interviews (knowledge gathering)

Ron Missyabit CPNW Keeper gave an update to the knowledge council on the CPNW projects and engaged the council on their knowledge of the natural world through questions and surveys. This data will be gathered through out the nations. It is important to record and retain the knowledge that is in our nations with our knowledge keepers. The CPNW will be conducting engagements sessions and data collection of all participating knowledge keepers in how the land has been used and how it should be used going forward. The CPNW will also be engaging the youth as well, starting with the FNT2T youth council for their input. Please look for upcoming notices and posters in your nation. Please stay safe
