FNT2T Men’s Council gather to discuss action and moving forward in nation and law development

Treaty 2 Territory – The FNT2T Men’s Council met in person and online at the conference centre in the nation of Pinaymootang on March 23, 2022. There were representatives from the nations of Little Saskatchewan, Pinaymootang, Tootinaowaziibeeng, Keeseekoowenin, Ebb Flow, Lake St. Martin, and Skownan. Ken Catcheway of Skownan gave the opening prayer asking for a good meeting. The items on the agenda for discussion:

  • Peacemaking
  • Mino Ombigi’aa – Children, Families, and Nation
  • Implementation plan/workplan

The council members talked about implementation and to move forward in the next steps in the areas of peacemaking and children, families and nation. FNT2T Peacemaking keeper Chantel Barker gave the council an update on the peacemaking process and the next steps moving forward in developing a peacemaking model for FNT2T and each nation. Members in attendance in person did review the peacemaking survey for their input and engagement. Lois Stoll CFN keeper gave a summary update to the council members on the Mino Ombigi’aa Onakonehkawinin. Ryan Sutherland of the Treasury and Admin gave the council and update on the process of the funding for FNT2T and how it flows to all the circles of FNT2T along with the policies and procedures for accountability. The Men’s Council meets regularly to give input and guidance on resolutions for Governing Council. Please look for upcoming events or engagements in your nation.
