Treaty 2 Territory – The Opening Ceremonies of the Treaty 2 Territory Minor Hockey Championship took place this evening at the CUP in Dauphin.
We were blessed with the presence of Knowledge Keepers Mrs Mary Houle and Louis Malcolm of Ebb & Flow.
Treaty 2 Grandmother Mary opened with a beautiful & meaningful prayer reminding us all of the importance of respect and enjoying one another’s company. She shared how her late husband Percy always shared the importance of respect to anyone you meet; whether it be strangers or your neighbours – being respectful and kind is of utmost importance.
We were blessed with some beautiful honour songs by John Houle.

Ogimaa Barry McKay of Tootinaowaziibeeng (Niigaanii for Sports & Recreation) shared the importance of supporting our young people as they pursue their interests & reminded all players to have fun and enjoy their time here.
