FNT2T Men’s Council meet to review and discuss strategic planning for FNT2T

May 24, 2022

Treaty 2 Territory – FNT2T Men’s Council met in person at the Keeseekoowenin Sharing Lodge in Wasagaming, Mb on May 24, 2022. There were representatives from the nations of Keeseekoowenin, Lake St.Martin, Gambler, Ebb and Flow, Tootinaowaziibeeng, Little Saskatchewan. The opening prayer was given by Barry Bone of Keeseekoowenin. Items for discussion by the council were:

  • Heritage sites in the territory
  • Strategic Plan presentation

There was much discussion on heritage and ceremonial sites that were in the territory and in danger of being moved/destroyed without any nation participation to preserve or protect those sites from development such as the diversion water plan for the nations near the water. There was consensus to help the nations affected by the flood waters and the building of any diversion of water. Chantel Barker presented the strategic plan (DIbendiziiwin) to the council for their review and input on how FNT2T will be moving forward as a government. Next steps involve meeting with all the councils to move forward on law development in each nation with engagement sessions in the area of Peacemaking and Children Families and Nation. Please look for upcoming events or engagements in your nation.
