Youth Summer Games main topic of discussion at FNT2T Youth Council gathering

Treaty 2 Territory – The Youth Council of FNT2T met in person at the Keeseekoowenin Sharing Lodge on May 24,2022 in Wasagaming, Mb. Nation representation from Tootinaowaziibeeng, Lake St. Martin, Pinaymootang, Keeseekoowenin, Skownan, Lake Manitoba and Gambler. Allen Sutherland of the Earth Lodge opened the gathering with an opening prayer. Agenda items were:

  • Strategic planning review
  • T2T summer games

Chantel Barker Peacemaking Circle keeper presented the FNT2T strategic plan to the youth council for review and input in moving forward as a government of the Treaty 2 Territory. The council will review and give feedback at the next youth council meeting. The youth council also continued to support the planning and implementation of the T2T Youth Summer Games which will be held at Eagle Island in Ebb and Flow on Jul 12-13, 2022. Ebb and Flow has a host circle in place to coordinate all the sporting events. FNT2T will be supporting the host circle. The sports events are baseball, volleyball, cross country running, basketball, and golf. There will be a demonstration sport of lacrosse. The council would like to invite all treaty 2 youth to enter and participate in these summer games. Please look for upcoming notices and events near your nation.
