CFN Circle utilizes MTN live to educate and engage nation members on Mino ombigii’aa Onankonehkawin

June 25, 2022

Treaty 2 Territory – June 22nd Children, Families and Nation (CFN) carried out an MTN Live session which is meant to educate and open dialogue with our community/Nation members on the Mino ombigii’aa Onankonehkawin (Law) ~ Law of the Children.

The first session focused on the declaration of collective rights in articulating our efforts of reclamation for the safety and well-being of our children, their families, their communities and the broader Nation. The declaration also includes the seven Anishinaabe principles of respect, love, humility, honesty, wisdom, truth, and courage.

Part I was shared which is the Inherent Rights of the Anishinaabe Child. This part of the law was also translated into Anishinaabimowin.

Part II was shared which is the Promotion of Wellness and includes the rights of the child, assigning of a wellness team, mediative support, and assigning a restorative peacemaker to summarize a few of the key points.

The CFN team will once again be hosting an MTV Live session on June 29th and in the month of July 2022. Please join us and provide your feedback.
