Youth and Knowledge keepers gather to share traditional knowledge and teachings

July 12, 2022

Treaty 2 Territory – The youth and knowledge keepers of Tootinaowaziibeeng gathered in Tootinaowaziibeeng to begin sharing the traditional knowledge and practises that were used in the area by members of Tootinaowaziibeeng. This gathering is a part of the TTR youth training camp initiative to have the youth learn their culture and traditions. There will be upcoming camps that will provide the opportunity to learn.

The annual Duck camp is being held in September for the youth to learn how to harvest ducks and geese. Last years camp was very well attended and successful. The introduction of buffalo into the nation is also another opportunity for the youth to learn the teachings of the buffalo and how important it was to the indigenous peoples. There will be upcoming information sessions in the nation. FNT2T would like to thank Tootinaowaziibeeng for the invitation to this gathering.
