Grandmother Council

OGEMAWKWEK (grandmother) COUNCIL

• The Ogemawkek Council shall from time-to-time review laws and provide recommendations to guide the Mikinaak Circle, Governing Council and Executive Council in their deliberations.
• An assigned Ogemawkek shall participate at all meetings to ensure Anishinaabe methodologies and provide wisdom and guidance.
• The Lead Ogemawkek or another designated member of the Knowledge Council shall participate at all other member Council meetings.
• The Ogemawkek’s Council will guide the Crane Circle in Peacemaking Appeals.
