Jordan’s Principle hosts 1 st Annual Youth Pow wow in Rolling River First Nation

August 24, 2022

Treaty 2 Territory – Treaty 2 and 4 West Region Jordan’s Principle program held their 1 st annual youth pow wow on Aug 23&24, 2022. Rolling River First Nation was the host nation to this historic pow wow for the youth. Members of the Anderson family were in the grand entry, along with leadership and local dignitaries. There were four drum groups singing songs for the children and adults to dance their style. There were dancers from all over the territory from each nation. There was a giveaway for all in attendance. Lunch and a community feast were held after the pow wow.

Each nation will have the opportunity to host this pow wow for the youth. It was a great day of celebrating and dancing our culture and traditions in Rolling River. FNT2T would like to thank the Jordan’s Principle pow wow committee for the invitation to attend and participate in this great event for the children. Look for upcoming events in your nations.
